Cherie Thiessen has stories in this month’s Pacific Yachting issue (A Gulf Islands’ events cruising guide), in Boat Journal (Destination Sucia Island), and three stories in Aqua Magazine (Coffee culture in the Gulf Islands, La Berengerie Restaurant and Inn on Galiano, and The Tree Frog Gallery on Mayne Island.) She’s getting ready to head off to Quebec on a press trip this month – a 200-kilometre cycle trip in the Laurentians, and is busy getting her shots for a trip to India in September. Now if only she could figure out the simpler things in life, like the BCATW blog!

On July 21 Ruth Kozak presented a lecture and slide show at the Surry Museum about Greek Myths and Muses as well as favorite places she has traveled. Ruth was recently interviewed for an advanced ESL student newspaper at Capilano College, on the topic of being a writer. Now that she’s finished edits her historical fiction novel and sending it on its journey to the published world, she’ll be catching up on more travel articles and has plans to visit Barkerville for the town’s 150th anniversary. www.ruthkozak.com (website)

Randi Winter is in Whitehorse looking for some great travel related and article related material. She will be looking for outlets for that, her recent trips to San Francisco, Napa, Los Angeles, Boston, Washignton DC, New York, Seattle and more. Focus on interesting experiences, touring, food, wine and hotels. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also special insider stories on Albania, Kosova and the recent release of Besa:The Promise a movie that she has exclusive insider interviews and personal experience with many of the people including the descendants of the King.

Jett & Kathryn Britnell continue to generate magazine editorial. Harbors – The Kenmore Air Destination Magazine published their story, “Campbell River’s Discovery Passage” in their summer issue.
Canada’s DIVER Magazine also ran a creature feature piece that Jett wrote for their Eau Canada parting shot section in the July 2012 issue.

Irene and Rick will trade the remainder of Vancouver’s pest-less and (now) balmy summer for a more northern clime with swarms of mosquitoes and black flies in Siberia and Mongolia, but are hoping the good outweighs the bad.

Darlene Foster will feature her two travel/adventure books for children at the Heart of Ladner Night Market on August 18, from 4:00 – 9:00 pm. Drop by her table and say Hello if you are in the area.
