Patti Shales Lefkos and her husband/photographer Barry Hodgins attended The Book Passage 22nd annual Travel Writers and Photographers Conference in San Francisco from August 9 to 12. They also took part in pre-conference writing and photography workshops on August 8 with Don George, National Geographic Editor at Large  and Robert Holmes, National Geographic photographer. Workshops were instructive, practical and inspirational. The chance to learn from and work with experts, as well as meeting fellow travel writers and photographers from Canada and the US was extremely worthwhile. Conference fees were reasonable and included most meals.

Karoline Cullen’s article on Lana’i and Maui, “The Lure of Lomi-Lomi”, was published in the Vernon Morning Star and on Travel Writers Tales http://travelwriterstales.com/lomilomi.htm  Another article on Maui, “Valley Isle Venues” was published on Day Trips Guide: http://daytripstravelguide.com/valley-isle-venues.html
