September 2021 BCATW Buzz

President’s Message

Greetings,

It certainly has been an challenging summer travel season; the one constant is that we are still in a fluid situation with international travel.

For myself, summer has been about writing domestic travel stories. One of my assignments took me to the Thompson River B.C. region where I experienced the luxury Sun Peaks Resort and wine tasting at the Monte Creek Ranch. Canada is rich with travel adventure, offering many opportunities for boundless travel writing.

We begin our BCATW education series this September and I encourage everyone to attend our first workshop, Travel Writing Basics with Ruth Kozak on Tuesday September 7th. Anyone who has been a BCATW member since 2019 is welcome to join us at no charge. Just drop me an email to receive the Zoom link. Non-members can sign up for the workshop at Meetup.

As a bonus for current BCATW members, we have an online presentation with the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board on September 9th. Malaysia is one of my favourite SE Asian countries, it’s affordable, the people are friendly with a rich and diverse culture to experience. This your chance to learn about new attractions and develop story angles to pitch for 2022. To renew your membership, go to BCATW.

Travel writers will always be in demand and BCATW is committed to professional development for our members.

I look forward to seeing you all online at our workshops in the weeks ahead.

Stay safe.

BestWay Travel

New “Where can I travel right now?” feature

One of the most common questions that the Bestway Tours & Safaris team has received over the last few months is which countries are open for travel.

Travel to destinations around the world is possible right now, and, through enhanced safety protocols, can be done safely and responsibly.

For travellers’ convenience, Bestway has curated a selection of countries that are currently open to tourists, whether for planning a last-minute journey or looking ahead to 2022.

Each of the curated destinations either accepts tourists that are fully vaccinated or allows entry with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.
